Liquid facelift: More convenient and cost-effective

A liquid facelift is done entirely with injectables, which has many advantages. Because it’s non-invasive, there are no scars, no recovery time, and the cost is less. Many of the benefits are the same as a surgical facelift: sagging skin of the face is reduced, and wrinkles are lessened. Dermal fillers have the added benefit of also providing youthful volume to the face, which a surgical facelift doesn’t do. This means that not only are wrinkles and sagging skin improved, but sunken or hollow areas (such as tear troughs and depressed temples) are corrected as well.

FAQ

What is the best age for a liquid facelift?

There is no “set” age for a liquid facelift. If you’re beginning to see signs of aging on the face such as sagging skin, wrinkles, jowls, and hollow areas, a liquid facelift may be ideal for you. Many patients who are even in middle age don’t yet need a surgical procedure — a liquid facelift very often is enough to meet their needs. To be sure which procedure is right for you, we invite you to meet with us in a consultation.

Liquid facelift treatment details

A liquid facelift is a quick, convenient in-office procedure (anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes). Before treatment, your skin will be cleaned, prepped, and a topical anesthetic will be administered to help keep you comfortable during the injections. Your skin may also be marked to help guide your aesthetician.

A series of the agreed-upon dermal filler and/or neurotoxin injections will then be administered to your face, just beneath the skin, into the appropriate areas of your face. Some patients feel pressure or some pinching, but the anesthetic will be very helpful.

Recovery and results

One of the biggest advantages to a liquid facelift vs. a surgical facelift is that there is very minimal downtime in comparison. Some bruising and redness may develop at the injection sites, but these are temporary and will fade quickly. Be careful not to touch or rub your face for a few days, and take it easy for 24 hours following the treatment.  Liquid facelift results are almost immediately apparent, depending on which injectables you received. (Neurotoxins and facial fat transfer take a bit longer to become visible than dermal fillers.) Results will typically last 9 to 12 months, but this will vary based on the specific products you received.
